Lawyer Cristián Amat Pomés graduated in 2001 from the Faculty of Law at the Gabriela Mistral University, Santiago-Chile. He holds a Diploma in Competition Economics; in Legislation and Tax Practices; in Labor Law Management, and Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution Mechanisms. He is currently studying for a Master's degree in Procedural Law at University of Los Andes.

From 2001 to 2005, he worked in a renowned law firm in the city of Santiago in charge of the judicial area of said office, as well as providing companies and individuals with labor, corporate and tax advice of various kinds. From 2005 to 2007, he is part of the Prosecutor's Office of a leading Telecommunications company in this country, in charge of its judicial, tax and antitrust matters. 

In October 2007, together with lawyer Nicolás Ruiz-Tagle Ortúzar, they founded the firm Amat, Ruiz-Tagle & Compañía Abogados, (Amat, Ruiz-Tagle & Co., Attorneys at Law) being in charge of the litigation area.

He has been appointed arbitrator judge on various occasions.
